Adonit Jot Pro Stylus
The Jot Pro is yet another accessory from Adonit’s series of styluses. As the company’s other offerings, this is a great example of a product, which combines good design (not to mention ergonomics) with some smart touches.
Some of them are features, which, as you could probably have guessed, are going to make typing with the Jot Pro stylus a lot easier – such as the precision disk, which allows you to see exactly where the stylus is centered and what is around it, and the possibility to hold said stylus in the way, which you feel most comfortable with – thanks to the way the tip is connected to the body of the accessory. Of course, you wouldn’t want anything to endanger this part of the stylus, so it comes with a protective cap, which you can rest on its back, when you’re using it.
There are also a couple of features, implemented purely for your convenience – the rubber grip being one of them (and one, which you will quickly learn to appreciate, at that) , the other being the stylus’ ability to magnetically attach to your tablet, when you’re not using it. Overall, we can only say, that this is truly a great product. B. A.

Pong – the case which protects both you and your phone
Smartphones have gotten to be an integral part of our lives in the recent years, but most users tend to forget that they have their bad sides as well as their good ones. The biggest problem, of course, is the radiation, which our devices emit – although there are regulations and strict rules, which manufacturers have to follow concerning the radiation, which their devices emit, there is still a risk in using your smartphone too often. Well, now you don’t have to worry about such things anymore – thanks to Pong’s special cases, which reduce the emitted radiation to an astonishing 95% below FCC limits – this means, that the case itself is not only protecting your device, but also you, while at the same time letting you use it for as long as you wish without having to worry about the effects of the radiation, which are practically gone.
But that’s not all the Pong cases do for you – they also help you deal with another issue, which is present in almost every modern smartphone – the battery life. Of course, you’re going to ask how a case, which doesn’t actually have an integrated battery, is going to prolong your device’s battery life. The answer is quite surprising – by using integrated technologies, the Pong cases are going to boost both your phone and WiFi signals – this means, that not only will you not have any problems with your signal any more, but, due to the fact, that your phone won’t have to constantly look for a signal, your battery life will also get a lot better.
Overall the Pong case is a great piece of technology, which is best of all very compact (despite the complex technologies, which are integrated in it) and genuinely looks great on your device, while also enhancing your user experience and safety. B. A.

Skype for Windows Phone finally out of Beta
When they released the first Beta-version of Skype back in February, Microsoft said, that we should expect the final version in April. Well it’s already a fact, as the final version of the app is available for download in the Windows Phone Marketplace, where as up until recently it was only available in the special “test software” version. Skype 1.0 is supported by all devices, running Windows Phone 7.5 or higher and allows for voice calls over both WiFi and 3G. Some of the new features are the possibilities to look for and add contacts and to call fixed numbers, though, rather sadly, the application still can’t be used in the background. It seems, that, at least for now, the application won’t be availble for phone, running Tango, because it requires 512MB of RAM, but this may change in time. Better integration with Skype is expected to arrive with Windows 8, though usability in background mode might be added earlier, as it is supported by Tango. B. A.
Windows Phone Based Nokia Lumia 601 Rumored
Several months ago Nokia’s first Windows Phone-based smartphones – the Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 were introduced at Nokia World in London. Later the new Nokia Lumia 900 was shown in an official video, and we thought it was the last phone from the line, but now a picture of a new Nokia device has leaked via PocketNow, and it looks like the rumored Lumia 601…
Unfortunately, not much is known about this Nokia Lumia 601 for now other than the fact it has an 8MP camera with flash (you can say this after looking at the pic) and runs Windows Phone Mango (just like all the other phones from the line). As for the other specs, there are rumors that it will most likely have a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with 512MP of RAM. And, judging by the photo, the screen seems to be a 3.7-inch WVGA. Plus we can guess that the phone will have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and all the other connectivity features all modern smartphones in general and WP-based phones in particular have.
Of course, this Nokia Lumia 601 doesn’t seem to be a really powerful smartphone, and though its rumored features are way better than those of the older Nokia phones, they’re much more “modest” compared to phones like the HTC Sensation XE and XL, the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the others. But I can’t say it’s bad, no. After all, there are many people looking for good but cheap phones not equipped with the latest technology inventions, so the Nokia Lumia 601 will most likely be very popular among these people. The Nokia 800 (which is way more powerful than the 601) is offered by mobile operators for free with a two-year contract and about ?24 monthly, so we can guess that the Nokia Lumia 601 deals will be even more affordable.
So, summing up all the info above, I can say that if the Nokia Lumia 601 is real (don’t forget that there is a chance that it can turn out to be a fake), it’ll be a nice phone with not that interesting design, but equipped with rather good features. And if it’s cheap, too, it’ll surely find its buyers. So let’s wait and see if it gets official soon.
Symbian Anna update
After months of waiting, users of Nokia N8, E7, C7 and C6-01 can now update their phones software to the best version of Symbian at the moment. Update to Symbian Anna for these smartphones already started and will gradually reach all product codes – currently seems only available option for India, China and the Middle East. The new version of operating system is with number 22.14 and leads together with itself significant changes in performance of the phone, new browser, portrait QWERTY keyboard, improved ways to scroll pages of the main screen and a new set of icons. Of course, this is just a small part of the update it also includes changes in work with the web browser, email client, gallery and etc. If you have some of these phones you can update it via Wi-Fi or PC application Ovi Suite.
HTC Ruby
Recently we saw the first pictures of the new smartphone from HTC, which code name is Ruby. Just these pictures issued that HTC will present a phone with a completely new design. The device is probably intended for the networks of American operator T-Mobile, which is also suggested by the logo in one of the staff, but this doesn’t mean that we will not see it in Europe. According to information, the smart-phone offers 4.3’’ display with qHD resolution and relies on dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, which would make it the fastest smart-phone from HTC Ruby. Mention is also two cameras with resolution – 8MP and 2MP, two hardware buttons – for photos and video capturing, 1GB RAM and Bluetooth 3.0 capabilities.
Android 2.3.4 for HTC Sensation
HTC Sensation is the first dual core smartphone of the company which came to market with Android version 2.3. But from HTC are willing to submit to the owners of the device the latest update of the OS – 2.3.4. The main change in this version is ability to use the front camera for video calls in Google Talk. Size of the update is 41MB and will upgrade the phone software to 1.45.401.2. It is not clear detailed list of changes but it is advisable to install it via Wi-Fi or USB connection, to avoid potential charges for mobile internet.

HTC will integrate technologies of Beats Electronics in their phones
Probably all of you have already heard about the products of Beats by Dr. Dre. This autumn the technology of Beats Electronics will get wider application, because HTC promises to integrate it in their smartphones. According to the website All Things D, the Taiwanese will invest 300 million dollars in Beats Electronics, which will provide the majority stake of the company and among the objectives of the transaction is to strengthen the positions of HTC brand in the United States. Beats Electronics will continue to operate as an independent company and will retain its current partnerships with Monster Cable, Chrysler Group and HP. HP will continue to make laptops with the audio technology, but not smart-phones, as it remains exclusive to models of HTC.
Google is buying Motorola Mobility.
Surprisingly, today Motorola Mobility announced that it will become the property of Google for the sum on 12.5 billion dollars. The price which will pay the internet giant is 40 USD per share. The deal already has been approved by the directors’ boards of both companies. The company’s new acquisition will allow them to improve Android mobile operating system and compete with other producers, especially Apple. Motorola Mobility will continue to operate as an independent company and licensee of Android. The transaction is expected to finish late this year or early next.
